Taking place at Birmingham cathedral, the charity works with young people who face difficult life challenges, who then become vulnerable to sleeping rough on the streets.

West Midlands police carried out major training exercises at the Bullring and Grand Central Station on Monday night, with new terrorist prevention bollards being put into place to minimise the severity of an attack should it happen.
The UK threat level remains at severe which means that an attack is highly likely.
We asked people at the bullring shopping centre to see if the public felt safer with the measures that have currently been put in place:

A campaigner from Birmingham Vegan Advocacy has challenged the West Midlands actions yesterday, after a bull on rampage was shot.
This was after it had escaped from a farm in Solihull, forcing Monkspath Junior and Infant school to go on lockdown because of safety fears.
The bull was tracked to the M42 where it was fatally shot due to an increased danger to the public.
Vegan campaigner, Eleonar Bryant, does not agree that this was the best solution:

My contribution: I contributed both the West Midlands Police training story and the Birmingham Vegan Advocacy story to this bulletin. Additionally, I had recorded and edited both pieces of audio for these stories. Similarly, I assisted Kasia in recording and editing audio for her sleep out interview as she had not previously used radio equipment and software.
I helped the group come to an agreed running order and created the running order included in this document. Reflectively, we could have worked better as a group to ensure a smooth production of the bulletin. The contrasting opinions have caused our running order to appear jumbled. To overcome this challenge, I felt it was best to allow everyone to have an equal input and judgement. However, after identifying and explaining issues, some group members didn’t see it necessary to listen and make changes as they felt pressured and desperate to have anything to present. This was frustrating as standards were sacrificed to ensure everyone in the group was pleased that the bulletin was just finished.
Unfortunately, the audio through Burli was disjointed and cut off. This was due to the poor preparation being done ten minutes before the bulletin was live on air. This taught us to be more collectively prepared for the second bulletin. I also corrected this audio error for submission of the individual stories. Overall, I have learnt that you cannot rush these production processes and that it is essential to get the everyone in the group on the same level of understanding.
